Heat issues when running CineBench or AHT - Why and how to fix

Let me tell you my problem, I personally use the late 2011 13 inch mbp and have replaced hdd to ssd, 16 gigs of 1600 mhz ram and applied arctic mx4 freshly. Now I find little improvement in cooling and very good improvement in performance due to the huge upgrade. But however when I use cinebench or other cpu hungry process, the CPU hits 98-100 celsius with fans going beserk. But when it's idle, the CPU sits at 45-49 celsius. I can understand this could be accessing the SSD through the faulty cable. but even when I go to the Apple hardware test, the fans still scream during memory test.

So, is it really the SATA cable end of the day as mentioned elsewhere that is causing this problem?

I spun your question out as it really needs to be looked at independently from where you had it.

Ah cool. I was wondering where it went. Thanks.

Let’s get a better handle on what’s happening in your system before we address replacing parts.

I would recommend you install a good thermal monitoring app like this one TG Pro I haven’t found one that offers a clean presentation of the data and allows you to see a high water mark this one offers. Install it and then paste a snapshot of the main app window (you may need to adjust the window size so all of the sensors are visible) Agregar imágenes a una pregunta existente

Update!

I think you’ve uncovered the issue!

I suspect your heatsink has failed! Apple uses a fluid filled heatsink which can leak out and when it does it looses the ability to migrate the heat to the fin area of the heatsink. In your last capture you can see your CPU is getting quite hot (~90ºC) and your fan’s RPM is running hard ()5530 RPM, but the heatsink is not very hot at all! (52ºC) Thats over 40ºC difference.

OK, I don't see the fan running at all! So we need to investigate why it's not running. How about running the onboard diagnostics, restart your system and press the D key let us know what error messages you get.

Reference: Mac startup key combinations

Usually the RPM goes at 6000 or beyond during heavy task like Cinebench. I saw it when I used iStat software before. Anyhow the Apple Hardware Test indicates the following error which I already understood is because of my non-Apple battery purchased from Amazon

"Alert! Apple Hardware Test has detected an error.

4xxxx/6/40000005: (strange chars) "Battery"

Pass Number: 1."

Let's push the system a bit so we can see if the fan stays below 2k under load. I'm not convinced your fan is working properly. Also drag the bottom edge of the window so we can see all of the sensors as you have a few hidden. Take another snapshot and post it here.

Okay, I ran a medium kind of task, and you can see in second image it went upto 4k speed with temps rising. Also, I cannot drag it as it was full already. If you're wondering the last one is the 'Palm rest'
