Magic Mouse Linux Compatibility?

Has anyone tried the new Magic Mouse with linux? I've heard it works as a two-button mouse in linux, but I'm curious if anyone can confirm that scrolling or gestures are supported.

This is the most useful thing I've found so far: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3039

I'm really looking from someone who actually has one of these and is actively using it with Windows or Linux to tell me more about the user experience.

I have one and use it with Debian Linux. Out of the box it pairs easily and works with right and left click as well as scrolling. You move your finger across the top of it as you would a scroll wheel and it works as expected. Something I didn't expect was that moving your finger left to right and vice versa will in fact scroll left/right. I have not yet figured out how to middle click (if it is even possible to do at this point) or how to enable and use custom gestures. I've heard that theres a project called Ginn that can achieve this but it doesn't seem to be in Debian, even in unstable. It is in Ubuntu though and porting it to or just plain installing (not recommended) it on other Debian based distros is probably not too hard.

I got one of these for Christmas, so I can confirm that it works on linux.

It looks like someone is working on a linux driver, but it's in the very early stages of development. They're hosting it on github: http://github.com/cosmonaut/xf86-input-m...

Not 100% sure about Linux but I know that the only function on windows OSs is the right click you mentioned. The multi-touch features will not work. It has been suggested around the super information highway that Apple may be releasing Windows drivers for them, but I don't know about Linux. It still has a particularly low market share

the right and left click should work, but the multitouch feature won't work without a driver, depending on which type of linux, it might already have a multitouch driver in the os.
