Here's the story, chronologically:

1.) iPhone home button stopped working, noticed slight rattling sound when i shook my phone, sounded like something small bouncing around

2.)Some time later, speakers/headphone jack started working intermittently

3.)Phone started charging intermittantly

4.)Headphone jack, speakers no longer work. Headphones are only static/super distorted sound

5.)Only charges when off

6.)Only charges when off sometimes

7.)Doesn't charge ever

8.)I go to replace lightning connector, as I self diagnosed that as the problem from water damage since i dropped my phone in the snow

9.) I find 2 loose screws in the iPhone, just bouncing around

10.)No clue where they came from, can't see any empty screw holes that they should go in

I'm pretty stumped, this is why I'm reaching out to you guys

EDIT: I think I found where they came from, I forgot to check the screen earlier. Could any of these bouncing around have affected my charging/audio etc? I found a third screw on the back of the display. Images added.

EDIT 2: During step 42 of my repair guide, I went to remove a screw and there wasn't one there.

Take a photo of the inside of the phone and behind the screen, probably loose screws from there.

Also take a photo of the screws and post them here. You can use imgur if you want to make shared links. You can also upload images using the picture icon when editing your answers.

Usually screws go loose when the phone has been dropped a lot.

Okay so the top right hand side screw hole for earpiece uses a long screw phillips, the one on the left hand side is half the size of that.

The bottom two for the home button area are about 0.5mm long.

So the bad news is I think I found another hole that needs a screw

The earpiece with the two screw holes you definitely need screws for those or else the earpiece speaker may not work due to a bad connection, home button you can do with one screw but it'll feel loose a bit while clicking.

I do realize the main objective here is to fix your broken phone. And you seem to have that covered. I just want to point out that all of that seems to be very odd to me. Are you positive that someone hasn’t been intentionally screwing with you? No pun intended. It’s just … it has an intentional feel to it. And judging by the way you are so meticulously handling the situation a person would easily come to know what kinds of things would work you this way.
