Hi @mmir ,

Post some close up pictures showing the capacitor with the information on it.

That way people will know for sure what type it is. Also if you can place a ruler next to it in the picture or give the measurements for it. That will also help.

Here's how .Agregar imágenes a una pregunta existente

Alternatively you can search on some electronic components websites and see if you can locate it yourself.

Here are just two:

Hi @mmir ,

Thank you for the pictures they were very helpful. (and very good too! ;-) )

You need to find a radial can, SMD (surface mounted device) 220uF 16V aluminium electrolytic capacitor. I couldn't find out what ddt meant. perhaps it is a manufacturer's code of some sort.

You need to check a few things with the capacitors that are available in the link I provided:

1. Make sure that you can buy just 1 as some have a minimum number of either 5 or 10 that you have to order. (unless you are happy to buy 5 that is)

2. Check the data sheet associated with the capacitor (data sheet link next to Adobe icon near picture of each capacitor) that the dimensions are the same (or nearly the same as the one you have). Most are but I haven't checked all of them.

I looked on Ebay but they either didn't have the specified capacitance or you needed to order 100+ .

Alternatively if you click on this link and select your preferred country and then type in Electrolytic capacitor SMD 220uF 16V in the search box on the page you should get results more suitable to you. No doubt check for the same things as mentioned above

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hi @mmir ,

That one should be OK. Just check the 7.7mm is not too high to fit it when the speaker is all closed up as the original seems to be about 6 mm high

I made the mistake about the value. (Good thing for me that you double checked)

It is 220uF

I have amended the answer to show this.

Just be careful how you connect it back. The stripe on the can indicates the -ve (negative)side of the capacitor. There is no marking on the board to show which is the -ve or +ve side. If you have an Ohmmeter you could check from the -ve side of the capacitor that is still on the board below where the one is "missing" and see which tab it connects to.

If you put it back the wrong way it might "burst" when the power is connected and will have to be replaced. Perhaps you should order 2 capacitors just in case.
