Is my GPU broken?

I bought this PC like 5 days ago so I downloaded Euro Truck Simulator 2 and CS GO, when I play Euro Truck my screen sometimes freezes but not the game and I hear my truck ram into something or take damage I have to open task manager and close it, when I play CS GO when I am joining a game my screen glitches out and everything like the gpu is fried or something I upgraded to the newest update for the driver and everything is the same.

My GPU is: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Windows 10

8 GB Ram DDR3

1TB hard disk 120 SSD

Intel core i5 6400 2.7 Ghz

Help me ASAP

If I try to take a screen shot it doesn't show on the screen shot!

Have you checked temperatures for GPU and CPU including their utilisation usages?

Hows ram usage as well?

Use hwmonitor64 to check hardware temperatures and CPU / GPU usage.

It sounds like the GPU is good just underpowered for the game. Is the GPU a separate adapter or is it built into the system board? Most of the time, the memory is shared with the GPU and the CPU, some GPUs have memory on the adapter. What may help is to add memory, if you can upgrade the memory on the GPU that would be best.

What version Windows 10 do you have, 32 bit or 64 bit. The 32 bit version can only use 4 GB RAM, 64 bit can support 128 to 256 GB depending on the system board memory limits. If you are using 32 bit Windows then you are not using the full 8 GB, in this case upgrading to the 64 bit will work better.

A 750 ti is plenty good enough for those games. I can run overwatch at 60 FPS on a slightly newer version of that card. That also isn't a symptom of a weak GPU.

Any skylake/kabylake Intel CPU supports a maximum of 64GB ram.

Dedicated GPUs never share system RAM. They never have upgradable RAM either. A GTX 750 ti has 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. Yet again, all this is irrelevant as these are not symptoms of a weak GPU.

Who in the world runs 32-bit Windows on new machines? That would just be weird.

You should have looked up the specs for at least the GPU.

You make assumptions. The GPU could have been incorporated in the mother board, the description did not specify. It is bad form to rant like that.

- de

He specified the GPU in the original question. If you did some research you would have found that that GPU is not integrated. No assumptions where made.

I do not criticize your comments, why do you criticize mine? If you have a better answer give it to the initial questioner. If you want to know, your answers aren't perfect either, so lay off.

My answers aren't perfect. Sorry. Take note I didn't down vote you answer.

Reinstall both GeForce experience and the GeForce game ready driver. These are separate programs. Once reinstalled, open GeForce experience and make it look for games in settings. Once found, click "optimise" button on you games. If this doesn't solve it, the problem must be hardware.

Hope this helps!

George A. When I had an older version of my graphics driver i made it find games and optimised the games but when i got on cs go the graphics were terrible it was zoomed in pixelated and every kind of crap so i made the options like the old ones and it was still glitching out the graphics, when i go home i will try what you said.

could well be your PSU isn't beefy enough to power your graphics card the newer graphics cards take ridiculous amounts of power to run properly....

if it works normally displaying your OS but fails in gaming the PSU would be my first port of call after driver updates

Usually in this case the symptom would be the computer shutting down and rebooting or power supply shutting off from overload protection (too much power)

- de

that depends on how the switch mode PSU is designed you can overload one bus bar on a switch mode PSU and the PSU won't crowbar (reset)...I repair amongst other things switch mode PSU's typically especially with the cheaper PSU's which state enormous wattage on the 12v rail really are quite feeble on the 5v rail ...you can draw more amperage than the 5v rail can supply which wouldn't shut down the computer/PSU ....it would however stop the graphics card from functioning which would account for him hearing sound but no video when the GPU's fire up ....I'm not a gamer I'm an electronics engineer of 35 years.....I've seen many of these faults with gamers computers it's almost always the PSU not delivering the amps
