Half the screen is white with lines, other half ok. Not cracked.

@ali1206 sounds like a bad LCD or a loose cable connection. Post some images of what your screen display with your question. If will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide for that. Worst case scenario you will have to open it up using this guide and check the cable connections to ensure it is properly seated. If so, consider replacing the LCD.

Actually yes it is, and I did, that was over 3 years ago. I bought a 2nd hand leap pad off ebay for a few quid, fixed the screen myself, which gave my son a few more years of use and learning with it. When he grew out of it I sold it on ebay together with the other one for parts. Result!
I enjoy a challenge, and isn't that the whole point of this website? To fix things?
