Can I solder my 4s logic board?

When recently doing a screen replacement/home button/battery exchange, I noticed a small transistor floating around in my iPhone chassis during the tear down. I thought far enough ahead to save the piece but thought little of it. Upon turning the phone on...no service :( so I took the phone apart again and scoured for pictures of the iPhone's logic board so i could play a game of find the differences. Luckily I have found where the piece goes, I just have no clue how to reattach it. Called a local repair guy and he wanted $125 to START. So I asked him to kindly...I said no. the piece needs soldered on, but is the size of half a grain of rice and has what looks like 4 contact points...

ANY ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Thanks guys,

Matt

legitimateaz, those components are extremely difficult to get soldered back on. Unless you have a lot of experience and the right tools, I would not suggest to do this repair yourself. It does require a microscope etc. for the soldering. Try to contact the user hectordtruong on here. I am certain he can provide with the assistance you need. Just in case it has crossed your mind, do not attempt to glue it back on :) Hope this helps, good luck.

$125 is outrageous. I would not charge more than $50!. It's the blue coil you're missing?

You can try to bypass it but again if you don't have exp soldering, leave it to the pros or you will damage it further.

on ebay there is what is called soldering conductive glue . it has a pin point for it to come out of . there is no risk of burning your board all you need is a microscope/magnifying glass.

Oh please dont. This stuff has ruined soooo many phones. I am scrubbing that stuff out of boards every week. It will undoubtedly just short stuff together and make the problem far worse. It is true that the repair above is in the $50-70 range. Just send it out and it will come back just like new.
