    • The Companion X450 360° Illuminator was built to provide a comprehensive and reliable lighting solution for a variety of environments.

    • The design emphasizes portability, ease of use, and versatility, catering to both everyday users and professionals who need a dependable light source in challenging conditions.

    • Height: 230 mm (+67 mm with the handle)

    • Width: 100 mm at the widest and 78 mm at the narrowest

    • Weight: 436 g

    • The device's base is the battery compartment, which is externally rubberised, contributing to the water-resistant nature of the lamp.

    • It also has 3 protrusion-like legs, which coupled with the friction from the rubber, allows for a good surface grip.

    • The base is designed to be easily twisted off, revealing the internal battery structure which sits within the grey shell. The internal structure of the battery case is made entirely of lightweight plastic and accommodates 3x D batteries, as per the manual.

    • 7 screws of 2 different varieties were used to anchor the battery ports. A round headed, phillips pointed tip and a flat headed phillips pointed tip. These were removed using a phillips screwdriver.

    • Diameter: 100 mm

    • Height: 93 mm

    • Weight: 32 g

    • The shell of the button mechanism is the outer cover of the battery case. The external button is made of rubber, and is glow in the dark. The rubber was removed with a pair of tweezers

    • The internal structure of the button was a plastic frame which supported the actual button mechanism. This was also removed using tweezers.

    • The grey casing was harder to separate as it was not connected to the body with any fasteners, so I had to remove it by force. It had 2 nuts and bolts within it but I was unable to move them with a screwdriver or a plier, as they were connected to the top of the lamp.

    • Inside the casing was a PCB connected to the button and the component above, possibly the LED light.

    • The button board which the green rubber sat was obscured with a small plastic frame to hold it in place, this was removed using pliers. The red plastic filament was delicate and had to be separated carefully by hand.

    • Weight: 14 g

    • Height: 80 mm

    • Diameter: 130 mm

    • In order to understand the structure of the lamp I had to tackle the top part so the nut and bolt systems in the battery case could be explained. The handle was easily removed manually

    • The lid-like structure at the top supported the LED torch. The green centralised button visible is the tip of the torch. There is a button which releases the tip of the torch directly when pushed. The black plastic lid is separated easily and reveals the structural foundation of the torch.

    • The lid contained a small helical compression spring and a phillips round head pointed tip screw to support the torch ejection system. The source of the nuts and bolts were also present in the lid. The screws were long phillips round headed flat tips. These were removed using a phillips screwdriver.

    • The translucent plastic shell is easily removed once the screws are out of place.

    • Height: 150 mm

    • Width: 97 mm

    • Weight: 62 g

    • The torch slips out easily. The torch tube has mechanisms for it to be unscrewed manually from the top and bottom. The the tip of the torch is a conical plastic lens, which can be removed easily. Beneath that, there is some sort of PCB (?) board with a small bulb on it, with an on/off switch on the side.

    • The circumference around the PCB has 2 rubber bands that were removed with tweezers. The PCB can be lifted to reveal the battery ports. The bottom part of the torch was twisted off to reveal a conical spring, possibly what allows it to be ejected from the lamp.

    • Weight: 68 g

    • Length: 90 mm

    • Diameter: 28 mm

    • The torch is connected to a supporting structure which is attached to the base of the lamp. It had an LED strip around it which was removed with tweezers, and had wire connections to the PCB board.

    • The PCB board was stuck, and so the connection point had to be cut with a pair of scissors.

    • The structure itself was difficult to separate, because there was a unique and complicated hook type twisting mechanism, which could only be undone via damaging the hooks.

    • Height: 65 mm

    • Width: 90 mm

    • Weight: 24 g

    • The device is now fully disassembled.

    • This device uses 4 standardised screws which can be purchased from hardware stores. The manufacturer possibly purchased these screws from an O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

    • A few parts were forcefully separated, like the support for the torch or the PCB, so fixing those components would be challenging and would require total replacement possibly.

    • The rest of the device can be easily put back together.
