The Sony BDP-SX1000 does not respond to powering up or does not show signs of being charged.

Faulty AC Adapters

Make sure the charge light is on when the Sony BDP-SX1000 is being charged. The adapter is faulty if charge light is not turned on. The charge light is supposed to be orange in the front charge indicator when Sony BDP-SX1000 is being charged. Also, make sure that the voltage and current outputs of the AC adapter match the requirements for Sony BDP-SX1000. The voltage output for the AC adapter should be 110-240 V. If it continues flashing while AC adapter is connected, then either AC adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced or the ambient temperature is not appropriate.
