If your OnePlus Nord N10 5G phone dies very quickly after it has been fully charged, review this page for possible solutions.
Initial Troubleshooting Steps
- Try a force restart
- Hold the power button down and select "Restart" on the power menu.
- Update device software, if needed.
- Go to settings and navigate to the System Settings, this is where you'll find the System Updates section and it'll tell you if your system needs an update.
Faulty Charger
- Ensure you have all connections plugged completely, including the block itself, USB or USB-C block connections, and USB-C charging output. Additionally, check the cord for any damage, including exposed or frayed wire.
- Replace the charging cord. Perhaps the cord has hidden damage that is not otherwise visible, so replacing it could be an easy solution to combat this.
Debris Inside Charging Port
- Check for any visible debris inside the charging port. If any is found, remove it gently using something non-metallic that is narrow enough to reach, like a toothpick.
- Using an unused toothbrush or paintbrush, gently insert the bristles into the charging port and move them around in a circular motion. This should dislodge any remaining dust or debris that was too small to see before.
- Using a can of compressed air, blow air into the charging port to dislodge any remaining debris. Be careful to only use the can vertically, or else the air will damage your phone by freezing it.
Apps Excessively Draining Battery
- In the app store, download the OnePlus Diagnostic app.
- Click the "View Battery Status" button. Compare the displayed number to the original battery life of the phone. Use the comparison to judge the battery health.
- Delete or change some apps. Your phone should say what apps are draining the battery the most. To change this, you can change the settings within said apps to drain less of the battery, spend less time using them, or delete the apps.
