The Tablet Will Not Power On
The Xoom 2 will not power on when plugged into the provided charger
The Device Is Unresponsive
If the screen does not light up when the lock button is pressed or held down. Then push and hold the Power/Lock button and the up-volume button and hold for at least 12 seconds. This will force the device to restart, fixing the bug. Note: This will delete any applications or data.
The Battery Will Not Hold A Charge
Plug the device into the charger. Next, check to see that the battery indicator light above the charging port is lit. If the indicator is lit and the device still does not turn on, then a faulty battery could be the cause, see battery replacement guide here.
Tablet Will Not Charge While Plugged In
Plug the device into the charger, next check the charging indicator light near the charging port. If un-lit, double-check that the charging cable is operational and/or plugged in properly. Try additional charging cables and wall adapters. If none of these steps help: see the charging port replacement guide here.
This issue is likely caused by weakened or broken electrical connections between the charging port and the battery. This occurs as a result of normal wear and tear during the device’s usage.
Screen is Blank While Trying to Take Photo/Video
The Motorola Xoom 2’s Camera is not taking photos correctly
Ensure the camera is not covered with a finger or the plastic protective covering that came with the device. If this does not help, reboot the device by holding down the power/lock button and volume up button for 12 seconds until the screen goes dark.
If your device’s battery is below 15%, it may prevent you from using the camera in order to save power. Make sure the device is fully charged and/or charging with the proper charger, once the battery is charged above 15%, try again.
Camera App Is Not Working
Sometimes the camera app stops working properly and may need a restart. Try closing out of all the apps on the device. If that doesn't work, then restart the device by holding the power/lock button and the volume up button, for at least 12 seconds.
The Camera Is Malfunctioning
Check the camera lens for any smudges, chips, cracks, or scratches. If the lens is dirty, wipe down the lens gently with a microfiber cloth using circular motions inside to out. If the camera still does not function properly, restart the device. If there is clear visible damage and/or all other steps have failed to restore the camera’s functionality then it may have to be replaced, see camera replacement guide here.

The Motorola Xoom 2’s screen is cracked or malfunctioning
The screen on Android Devices can freeze at times. Once it is frozen, the only course of action is to either let the battery of the device discharge completely or perform a forced reboot. Perform a forced reboot by pressing and holding both the lock/power button and the volume up button for 12 seconds.
Screen Is Broken
If the screen is physically cracked, broken, displaying odd patters and/or colors or otherwise nonfunctional: see the screen replacement guide here.
Sound Is Not Working
The Motorola Xoom 2 speakers are not producing sound
Speakers May Have Been Muted
Verify that the speakers have not been muted by turning the volume all the way up using the volume up key. If the speakers still do not make any noise double-check the application doesn’t have a separate mute button.
Speakers Are Making Unusual Noises
If water has entered the speakers, power off the device and place it in a plastic bag with uncooked rice or desiccant packets. Wait at least 5-6 hours for the speakers to dry out, before powering on the device again. If the issue continues consider replacing the speakers, see the speaker replacement guide here.
Further Xoom 2 Troubleshooting
After attempting all of the above troubleshooting, my Xoom 2 is still not working.
Battery May Be Depleted Beyond Recharge
Typically, when tablets fail unexpectedly, a common reason for failure is the battery, resulting in the device not powering on. While this may not the actual issue with the device, it can be one of the factors preventing it from being used. See the battery replacement guide here.
Motherboard Is Malfunctioning
Before considering the motherboard as the main problem, please verify that all other possibilities have been ruled out. In short, this should be a last resort fix. See the motherboard replacement guide here.
I’ve Tried Everything above. Nothing worked. HELP!
If you have you tried all of the above troubleshooting guides without any luck, please consider further research outside of this guide for possible problems or even consider responsibly recycling the device, services vary by locality.
