Are the buttons on your GameSir G4 Pro controller not responding to input? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Debris Obstruction
Dust could prevent the buttons from responding. Remove the keycap and make sure there is no debris under the keycap. Clear dust with compressed air or microfiber cloth, then replace the keycap.
Controller Needs Reset
If the controller is unresponsive or not charging, it may require a hard reset. Locate the tiny hole on the back of the controller and press it with a pin or needle for about 5-10 seconds. Then, fully power it down and restart the controller to clear any potential connection issues stemming from the controller.
Poor Connection
Wired Controller:
- Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the controller and the device
- Possibly try another USB port attached to the device
- Test with another cable if possible
Wireless Controller (Bluetooth):
- Make sure the controller is paired to the device correctly
- Check to see if your device is registering the button presses by using a Gamepad Tester. On a computer, you can test this by using this website: https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
Controller Needs to Be Paired Again
Reconnecting the controller to your device is useful if you are using Bluetooth.
- Remove or “forget” the controller from your device’s Bluetooth settings
- Go through the connection process again
This will ensure that the issue isn’t related to corrupted pairing data.
Issue with Device/Game
Connect the controller to a different device and see if the issue persists. If the buttons respond, then there is likely an issue related to the software of the device you are trying to connect to. If the issue persists, then the problem likely stems from the physical buttons, which may indicate a need for replacement.
