Droid Won't Turn On
After holding down the power button, the Droid still won't turn on.
Cycle the Battery
Try taking the battery out and putting it back in the device.
Check the Charge
The phone/batterymight be out of charge. Try plugging the phone into a wall outlet or other direct power source.
Check the Outlet
It is possible that the wall outlet or other power source you are connected to is not even issuing power. Try connecting another device, like a lamp, to make sure the outlet is live.
Replace Battery
The battery in your phone may simply be fried. Try replacing it with a new battery of matching types to ensure that it is a battery issue, and not a device issue.
Internal Issues
If the device still isn't operating, then odds are that it has physical or electrical damage of some sort in the internals. There are no known quick fixes for this, as the true problem causes may vary.
The Screen Is Unresponsive
Either the screen is on, but not responding to touch, or the screen is black, but you are sure the phone is on.
Turn the Phone Off
Many devices have button combinations that force them to shut off. So if the device won't power down normally, see if the device has one.
Cycle the Power
Try taking the battery out and putting it back in the device. This will effectively force-restart the phone, taking it out of any potential frozen states.
Plug the Phone Into a Power Source
The problem may be that the battery died while the phone was in operation. Try connecting the device to a power outlet to charge the battery.
Internal Issues
The screen may have suffered internal damage at some point. If you are uneasy about opening up the device yourself, bring it to a technician.
No Audio Through Headphone Jack
When you plug in headphones, you don't hear anything coming through.
Clean out the Jack
Make sure the jack is completely clear of any dust or debris. For easy access, try using a can of compressed air.
Check the Volume
If you aren't hearing anything, make sure there is something to hear! Ensure that the volume on the phone is turned up and that some kind of audio is actually playing.
Try Different Headphones
The headphones that you are using to listen could have a problem of their own. To make sure the problem is not in the device, try using a different pair of headphones and see if the problem persists.
Electrical Damage
It's possible that the jack suffered electrical damage from water or some other source. For good measure, try putting the phone in rice or in a warm sunny place to dry.
No Sound From Speaker
There appears to be no sound coming from your device's speaker.
Check the Volume
Make sure that the volume is turned up and that the device is playing some audio that can actually be heard.
Check the Headphone Jack
Make sure there is nothing in the headphone jack that could be causing the phone to play audio in "headphone mode".
Plug In Headphones
Try using headphones to make sure that the audio source you are trying to use is, in fact, a source of audio, and that sound is actually playing.
Internal Issues
The speaker itself could have some form of damage. If you are uneasy opening up your device yourself, take it to a technician for repairs.
Cannot Send/Receive Phone Calls or Texts
Whenever you attempt to send a text or make a call, the action promptly fails.
Cycle the Battery
Try taking the battery out and putting it back in the device.
Check Your Service
Check to make sure that you are not currently in a dead zone, and that you have enough service to complete the action.
Check Your Bill
Make sure that you have paid your bill and that your plan is still active, or that your phone has not run out of "minutes".
Check Your SIM Card
Check your SIM card to make sure it is fully in place and that it is not damaged in any way or missing.
Call Your Service Provider
Notify your service provider of the issue you are having. It is possible that the problem is on their end, not yours and that they can assist you in fixing your problem.
