Asus ROG G20CB is Loud
The Asus ROG G20CB is experiencing loud fans and abnormal humming noises.
Vents Need to Be Cleaned
Find the vents on the side of the computer.
Use a soft cloth or brush to clean out the vents of any dust or debris.
Power Settings are Set Too High
Select the Windows logo and search for Control Panel, and select Open.
Select Power Options.
Select Balanced or Power Saving mode.
Drivers Need to be Updated
Go to the Asus support website.
Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, and GPU drivers.
Restart your PC after updating.
Fan Speeds are Too High
Restart your PC and press F2 or Delete repeatedly when it turns on to enter BIOS.
Find the Fan Control section.
Lower the fan speed or choose a quieter setting.
Device Temperature is Too Hot
If the computer is too hot, the fans spin fast to cool it down.
Download or install HWMonitor or SpeedFan (free programs that show temperature).
Open the program and check if the CPU or GPU temperature is above 80°C. If so, your computer is overheating and needs better cooling.
If the previous solutions have not addressed the problem, you will need to replace the CPU Cooler, Graphics Card, or Fans, please see the replacement guide linked here.
