Battery Issues
The battery is having trouble charging or holding a charge.
Charger is not plugged in properly
Make sure to check that the microUSB cord is properly plugged into the top of the Fire HD 8. Then check that the other end is properly plugged into a USB slot or the wall adapter. If the problem persists, try unplugging the cord from your device and reinserting it.
Charger is broken
If your device will not charge with proper connection, try using a different micro USB cord and/or power adapter.
Battery won’t hold a charge
Fully power off your device and then plug into the microUSB charger for several hours. If the Fire HD 8 still won’t charge, there may be a problem with your battery. Consider replacing the battery.
Forgot Lock Screen Password
You have trouble gaining access to device due to forgetting your lock screen password.
Unable to Remember Lock Screen Password
Reset Fire HD 8 back to factory defaults. If reset is unsuccessful, contact Amazon for support.
Screen Will Not Turn On
Your screen is black and/or displays the empty battery symbol.
Device Is Off
Press power button on the top right side of the Fire HD 8 to power on your device.
Battery Is Not Charged
Charge your device using the microUSB cable provided with your Fire HD 8.

Screen Is Broken
Contact Amazon Support. If your screen needs to be replaced, refer to iFixit Guide: Amazon Fire HD 8 Screen Replacement
Device Won’t Play Sound
No sound is coming from the device, or the sound is very quiet or muffled.
Volume Is Muted
Your volume may be muted. Use the right button on the top left side of the device to turn the sound up, or open “Settings” and tap on the “Sound and Notifications” option, and use your finger to slide the volume slider to your desired volume.
Speaker Is Covered
There may be something covering the speaker, such as your body, fabric, or other materials. Make sure the bottom portion of the left side of the device is not blocked.
Headphones Are Plugged In
Make sure you do not have headphones plugged into the top of the device.
Headphones Are Not Plugged In
If you are using headphones, make sure they are plugged in. If they are already plugged in, try re-plugging them to ensure that they are fully connected to the device. If the problem persists, try slowly turning up the volume on your device using the right button on the top left of the device.
Headphones Are Broken
If you are using headphones and the above does not fix your problem, your headphones may be broken. To check that the device is not broken, unplug your headphones and test the sound. If this works, you may need to try a new set of headphones.
Headphone Jack Is Loose
If the problem persists, your headphone jack may be loose. Consider replacing the auxiliary port.
Touchscreen Is Not Responding
Your touchscreen is not responding accurately or correctly.
Screen Is Frozen/Unresponsive
Reboot/restart the device by holding down the power button on the top right of the device.
Screen Is Responding Incorrectly
Contact Amazon Support.
Touchscreen Is Damaged
If your screen is damaged, contact Amazon Support. If your screen needs to be replaced, refer to iFixit guide: Amazon Fire HD 8 Screen Replacement
Bluetooth Connectivity
You have trouble connecting the device to Bluetooth feature.
Bluetooth Is Not Activated
Under "Quick Settings," select "Wireless," and then select the "Bluetooth" feature. Select "Enable," and locate the device or accessory desired to connect to the Fire HD 8.
Bluetooth Won’t Work
If the Bluetooth feature is on, check to make sure that the device you are trying to connect is compatible to the Fire HD 8. Confirm that both devices are on. Confirm that the devices are paired.
Wifi connectivity
Your Kindle cannot connect to wifi or the connection is weak.
Wifi Is Not Turned On
If you cannot connect your device to wifi, click on “Settings” and turn on “Wifi.” If the device still won’t connect, reboot the device by holding down the power button and try the first step again.
Wifi Connection Is Weak or Nonexistent
If your Kindle still won’t connect to wifi, check the wifi router in your area and contact your Internet provider.

Unable to play videos on Facebook but will play them on You Tube. Does Kindle Fire 8 need to be defragged. If so, where do you find the place to do it on the tablet?

This is my second kindle 8 and same problem as last time. Screen won’t turn on only rotates between Fire and Amazon. I’ve turned it off…Held all buttons down.
could my charging source be to strong for this tablet? Does it just get burned out?

I have a amazon fire HD 8. I don't know if it is the battery or something else. When I turn it on it says KINDLE then the fire logo and running dots under the fire logo. Then it doesn't do anything else. Just the fire logo with running three dots under it all day. Help please. Out of warranty. Thank you
