ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C Troubleshooting
Device will not turn on
The tablet will not turn on when you press the power button.
Battery is dead
If the device does not turn on because the battery is dead it needs to be charged. This is done using a micro USB cable. Plug the USB port into the appropriate port on the top of the device and plug the other end into a power socket or a computer. If the battery is completely depleted it may take up to 3-4 hours before it is completely full again.
If the device doesn’t charge despite being plugged into the charger, the charger might be broken. See if it works with other devices. If not, it needs to be replaced.
If the battery does not charge despite using a functioning micro USB cable, you might need to replace the battery. Replacing the battery can be done by following this guid:
Screen malfunctioning
If you have followed the previous two steps and the device is still not turning on, the screen might be damaged. If so it has to be replaced. This can be done by following this guide:
Motherboard is malfunctioning
If all the previous steps have been followed, and the device still does not work it’s possible that the motherboard is broken and needs to be replaced. Replacing the motherboard can be done by using the following guide:
Unresponsive Screen
If your screen doesn’t respond to your touch, it may be related to your HD Digitizer malfunctioning.
Damaged HD Digitizer
If your HD Digitizer is damaged it needs to be replaced, follow this guide. You will know this is the case because the screen will not responds to your touch or commands.
Cracked Glass Screen
If your screen is cracked, follow this guide to replace it. A cracked screen may also allow particles to enter your device and damage the HD Digitizer under your screen that is responsible for sensing touch. If your tablet’s display is distorted and your screen is unresponsive, in addition to replacing the cracked glass screen, you may also need to replace your tablet’s HD Digitizer using this guide.
Wi-Fi Fails to Connect
The device will not connect to the Wi-Fi.
No Default Connection Set
Go to the “settings” screen and select “Wi-Fi” so that all of the networks in your area are displayed. Select your network and enter the password, if necessary.
Out of Range
Be sure that you are in an area where there are networks you can connect to.
Bluetooth Connection Fails
The tablet will not sync to Bluetooth enabled devices.
Stuck On Previous Pairing Setting
First, try turning the Bluetooth off and back on again. Go to “settings” select “Bluetooth” and turn it off. Wait five seconds before turning the Bluetooth back on again.
If the previous stated solution does not work, it is possible that the other device that you are trying to connect to is experiencing issues. If you do not see the name of the other device in your Bluetooth settings, try turning the other device off and back on again, until the name is displayed in your Bluetooth settings.
Camera Takes Blurry or Dark Photos
No pictures come out, or the photos are distorted or blurry.
Camera lens may have been damaged
If the pictures don’t look normal or clear and the device fails to focus, the lens may be damaged. Turn the device with the screen facing down to see if the lens is damaged. If the lens is damaged, then the lens needs to be replaced to solve your problem. Try this lens repair guide if this is the case.
Speakers not working
Speakers produce little or no sound.
No sound
Make sure your device is not muted and volume is turned up in settings.
Update drivers
The driver that provides a software component to the device might need an update. To do so, go to “Settings Manager” then “Update Driver” to update your sound card.
Malfunctioning drivers
If the sound card drivers are fully updated and still don’t work, try resetting or reinstalling the system. Go to the “Settings Manager” menu to reinstall.
Replacing speakers
