As mentioned, sometimes the replacement part is defective. I’ve has the same symptoms as this on an iphone 7 before, and it was the replacement charging port which was causing the issue.

double check the connections are fully seated for the lcd. Have you slightly crimped the flex cable when fitting the screen into the housing? Else, you have a defective screen.

If you're sure you never damaged the original home button, and it looks all in tact, and cleaned on the connector, and the logic board pins are clean. Then possibly, the LCD backplate which contains the flex cable for the home button could be damaged. It's worth replacing that. If not, then you'll need someone who is God at micro soldering, to transfer the components over to a new home button, which can be very tricky without damaging the new home button flex.

Remove the camera & speaker flex. It looks like it could be that one. As the smaller one is for the home button, and the other one which isn't cut, I think is for the LCD. If that part of the cable is from the camera flex, then you need a new front camera. If it's not, then you'll need a new LCD. You won't be changing the LCD flex without any proffesional refurbing kit.

Either the home button was damaged. Or the flex cable on the screen is damaged. If the old LCD is still working. Put the original home button back on that screen, and test it on there. If it's still the same, most likely damaged the button.

First thing would be to replace the front glass/digitiser with the IC connector assembly pre soldered.

That B7000 glue is good, easy to control the flow too, and doesn't dry like super glue so it's not brittle when dry.

Has it been recently replaced? If so, sounds like the metal Sheild on the flex maybe too high/low pushing pressure on the lcd. Is the yellowing large, or small?

You ideally need to remove the emi shields, if it's got damp, components are most likely to have corroded. If you can't get the shields off, Litterally put the board in a bath of isopropyl, then leave to fully dry. Then, use a new battery, and unplug everything on the board except the lcd, power flex & battery and see if it boots up, if so, plug in another component one by one until the fault occurs again (if any) which may indicate that part. Also, don't forget to clean the female connectors not just what's on the board. Also, iTunes errors can also be caused by non genuine leads, I've had this before, and a decent/genuine cable worked. Ring Microsoft. I've had 2 controllers changed! They said that's it's past the Warrenty, but I kicked off and said that's unacceptable for a premium product. I've had a 360 controller which lasted 7 years!!!!!! They agreed in the end to replace both controllers, and had the replacements in about a week from sending mine off each time. So I'd expect this type of controller to last at least a couple of years easily. You can use the clause (depending if the laws are the same) not fit for purpose! Sure there's lots of great advise, but I get really annoyed that this stiff happens, and they try and shy away from it. Once you get another one in return, you got a fresh Warrenty.
