Try "Contact cleaner" spray, its not expensive but effective. You can also use olive oil, works slowly but it works.

Simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 W and 9 C keys , this closes all the running apps and resets the phone

Its probably the app error, its either not compatible with your device or the update aint working and needs fixing, id suggest to go to Google play, and leave a comment about your problem hoping it'll be taken into account, in a mean time id suggest to maybe uninstall the update?

is it possible you don't charge it enough? Because it may show 100% battery but in fact be 15%? Because its a common system error in android. Of course it also could be that the batter need to be replaced, how long have you had your phone for? Has the battery looks the same size to you because sometimes it expands for some reason and just doesn't charge

Its probably due to settings, its possible that your mac is set to never sleep? Try to go to "System Preferences" - "Energy Saver" : -Check your "Turn display off "settings- whether its set to "never"- if yes then change according to your need -or/and If the "Put hard disk to sleep when possible " is ticked on both the "Battery" and the "Power Adapter" Hope it helps :)

This happens to my Sony phone too, usually when I use an app for longer period of time, common errors in the android system,basically what happens is your phone shuts down to prevent any further battery damage. Have you tried upgrading the version of android you have? Or it may be due to you force closing apps ( running services) to clear your RAM? For now I would suggest don't leave any apps running for long period of time.
