Does heating the screen not run the risk of damaging it like you can with a phone?
All the immature comments aside, thank you Dustin for sharing the information.
Because there is no stress on the ribbon cables if you remove the screen. You’ll be moving the phone around trying to remove the adhesive, which would introduce the possibility of damaging the ribbon connectors.
Anybody have a solution to the front facing camera assembly not working? Changed out my buddies battery and now the front camera and ear speaker don't work.
This guide needs to be changed to Difficult. Removing the screen without breaking it will be challenging. If you are successful after that, the rest is easy.
Are steps 22-25 necessary just to replace the display?
I have to ask the same question. If just the glass display is broken, and you're heating it up to remove the glass, is it really necessary to remove everything? Doesn't like like it is necessary
You will need to pull back the anti-tamper seal along the rear left corner.
LOL! Love the guide, but could a bit more info.
I see some great results here. But I'm amazed everyone would remove the glass that is bonded to the whole LCD with LOCA glue, to reinstall the new glass with 3M tape along the borders.
