Leer másWell it would appear a good clean was needed. Managed to connect back to the wifi! Its was the common its doesn't want to connect to one network issue but still no signal. after further checks discovered the phone has lost the IMEI number! Obtained authorisation to wipe it but think its likely to be the IC chip from what I've read however going to get the phone back for practice! Well its a brick so might as well try and he's happy to buy a new one! Moral of the story for this guy do not give your iPhone to your kids!
