Can anyone advise a replacement part number for the non touch screen version at all please?
@mrjimphelps I agree, advise ppl to avoid this over priced non-repairable junk. I think as @msvallen says MS taking the worst leaf from Apple and deliberately making a device non-repairable. A shoddy shoddy way to behave Microsoft. I have had a few of these in for repair and can honestly say they are from that perspective a waste of money. So much for such a short life span and non-repairable to boot.
An examination of the innards suggests no good reason for using screws especially on the lower kb assembly. The screen could be secured less strongly and it would make upgrading the SSD easier, pull tabs on the adhesive as per the Apple iMac 2017 models could be very useful. Of course this assumes someone in product design actually cares about our right to repair and environmental issues, so you can guarantee it wont happen.
In that case STOP buying the product!
I would suggest that there is NO need for screen and MB removal on this phone as the charging port and assembly come out as one piece after removing screws and applying gentle heat to soften the adhesive holding the port in place.
How do I identify the part no’ for replacement please?
Hi All, the sensor cable 2nd in from left on the removed board, does anyone know what it is and where I can get a replacement from at all?
what do you need to solder, pics please…
Step 21, be careful when de-routing the wifi cables. Ensure they are Well away from the logic board when you remove it. The connectors appear to be little more than pushed onto the aerial wires and they can become EASILY separated from the cables if not fully pulled AWAY.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
On my model 3003, after reaching the end I flipped my bottom case over for dust removal etc and a silver clip fell off. I think it was located on the right (from front) side of the unit. There is another larger one attached slightly further forward. Does anyone know how the smaller one fits back in? It appears to have 2 semicircles cut out of one part which look like screw guides but I can't see anywhere they might fit and nothing I've seen here or elswhere is helping with this. Any ideas please?
General comment, you make no mention of removing the PCB from the DVD drive if it's being replaced. Any particular reason for that?
A few points.
1 could be clearer as to which particular model is being used in this dis-assembly (is this the wifi version?).
2 could do with showing the removal of MB from system (not hard but incomplete without it).
3Can you either go further by demonstrating how to remove screen from mid frame and or identify a supplier of the midframe and lcd combined? This would be particularly helpful as the screen appears to be completely glued to the midframe with no obvious way to remove it.
