It's worth a shot I suppose, it depends upon the extent of the water damage, if it was only a tiny amount then the screen may have survived the damage but if it was a little bit more then the screen would have most likely been damaged slightly. You won't really know if it's worth saving until you test it out. The screen itself would probably still work but it will have visible water damage

Anyway, the best thing to do is remove the casing so the phone's logic board is exposed (This isn't needed so don't do so if you aren't confident but it speeds up the process). And then put the phone in a bag of rice ensuring the whole phone is covered (The rice absorbs moisture) and leave it on a windowsill in the bag of rice for a few days to a few weeks depending upon how bad the water damage was. Please note: If you disassemble the phone ensure all electrical parts are placed in the bag as all of them could've been damaged.

Leer másHello! I myself have never encountered this before but I would start by cleaning up the connections using isopropyll alcohol. If this does not resolve the issue then check the connections and check no pins are bent within the socket. I have experienced bent pins in the digitizer connection before but this caused a none-responsive touch screen rather than partially responsive but I'd still check it out, if they're bent then do your best to straighten them. I used a tiny sewing needle to achieve this but I'm sure there is a much better suited tool for the job. Before claiming the pins to be straight compare them to ensure they are actually bent, I suggest using a magnifying glass to have a closer look. Get back to me with the results :)
Leer másHello! The battery is soldered to the logic board, so to remove it you need to heat up the solder pads using a soldering iron. Apply heat to the shiny solder pads not the ribbon cable. I recommend buying some solder wick for the removal, it collects all the solder so when it cools and sets again (Seconds after heat is removed) Then it cannot adhere probably as there is no connection or a minimal one. It isn't needed but if you are with little experience then doing this will remove a lot of the frustration involved when the different solder pads cool whilst you're applying heat to the others.
Leer másHello! When I've encountered this issue a replacement display assembly has always fixed the issue. How recent was the replacement installed? If recently then get in contact with your provider and tell them of the issue. Before you do this it can't hurt to try and reinsert the Flex cable. Please do this first to ensure this is not the issue. Follow the iPhone 4 Display assembly replacement guide but not all the steps as not all are required. Follow steps 1-7 and then ignore steps 8,9,10,11 and 12. Follow steps 13 and 14. Ignore step 15 and 16. And then finally complete step 17. Then go backwards and reassemble your iPhone. Please get back to me with the results :) If unsuccessful then either get in contact with your provider if the assembly is within warranty or buy another replacement.
Leer másYes this tends to be an issue after removing any LCD and reinserting it in small devices such as an iPod or phone. 99/100 times this is fixed by turning the device on and off as the LCD isn't actually damaged it just needs resetting. If this does not work then try it again just to be safe. If you still get nothing then remove the battery and reinsert it. If still nothing then the LCD or the Logic Board has been damaged during the repair, with any luck the LCD is to blame. Post back with the results and I'll give you another suggestion but chances are the reset will work :)
Leer másHello! Answer's a bit late... over 2 years, but I thought it may be useful to others having similar issues. I mainly work with these iPods and over time I noticed this problem was recurring over a large amount of hard drives. So I decided to purchase a 1.8" IDE to USB adapter. They allow you to connect the hard drive directly to your computer without the use of the iPod. Doing so showed that the hard drive needed formatting as it was damaged. I formatted and then again it displayed the same hard drive size around 3-5GB. I then tried a more drastic restore, go to control panel, then administrative tools, then computer management, on the left you will see a drop list of options, go to storage then disk management. Here my hard drive was displayed as it's real value of around 18-19GB but 14-16GB of it was unallocated. You can allocate it using windows but I already had a program that manages your Hard drive called Mini Tool Partition Wizard so I loaded that up and there it was again, the same unallocated...
Leer másHello! The part that needs replacing is the display assembly. You should be able to find one fairly cheaply but remember that you usually get what you pay for, so don't go for the lowest priced one, go for one in between. The ifixit shop does not stock the required part so try eBay :) If you're not confident replacing it yourself then take it to a mobile phone repair shop if you are then proceed and reply with the results! ifixit does not currently have a guide to do the repair, there may be one else where but I just thought I'd give you the heads up :)
Leer másHello! Although the damage is most likely linked to the signal it also may not be, the capacitors could just as likely be another function of the phone. Before declaring it logic board damage ensure the antenna is plugged in, it is located just below the battery connector so it could have been knocked out of place. If it is inserted try removing it and reinserting it. Try the solution suggested and then reply with the results, we will then reevaluate the situation :) Good luck, I hope this is as difficult as it gets :)

Looking at the specs of that processor it seems it is not supported :( The socket required for the processor is different than the socket on the Mother Board :(
The socket on the Mother Board is not compatible with that processor.
Sorry for the delay yet again! :( I am beginning work on the pictures this week and I hope to have them up by the end of it! I would just upload the pictures but I need to edit them all adding in the multicolored boxes that I've stated are in the pictures...
Brian Smith, I do not believe that any CPU's are ever soldered but I cannot be sure... I do however know that on this model they are not :)

It is my intention, I have all the pictures I just had internet problems for a few weeks and forgot about it completely however this has now been resolved :) I shall make sure all pictures are ready but it may take a few days as I do not quite remember the order of them all :/ Thanks for using the guide, well sort of :)
