Have one of these Sony BPD-S32000 purchased in Costco Canada and recently got a DVD purchased in the UK but I cannot play it.

When inserted it says "Cannot operate disk." yet it works fine with any region 1 DVD or Blue-ray movies.

With my collection from Argentina that are region 4, sadly and shamelessly announces "Playback prohibited by region code."

Is there any way to remove the region lock?

It should be illegal that rightful owners of media cannot play it! The distributors (and Sony) already got their money and SHOULD NOT HOLD US HOSTAGE for their INCESSANT GREED!!
