Things to check : > Check your fault codes - if the Check Engine light is on (Having access to VCDS Ross-tech helps, or a solid VW scan tool) > Check all fuses. (far left side of dash, by door - pop cover off) *definitely check fuel pump fuse* If fuses are all good, then pop hood… > Locate your ignition Coils / Spark Plugs (Will have to remove plastic engine cover) ** (purchase an ignition coil/Spark Tester.. They’re fairly cheap) > Test each of your Ignition Coils & Spark plugs with tester. > Can also use a digital multimeter to test if your ignition coils are good/bad too… It’s not complicated, but you’re going to have to Google / Youtube it per whatever type of ignition coils your vehicle has. ** When you remove your first ignition coil, as well as all the other ones, peer down in each of the cylinders and make sure your spark plugs aren’t swimming in oil.** > [IF YES] then you need to remove each ignition coil and each spark plug — use a rag and clean up all the oil. wipe down your plugs, down inside...
