Press the Ink button and wait a few seconds. Press it a second time. This works for me.
I found that you need to press the Ink button 3 times, with at least a few seconds in between presses, to move the ink compartment/print head to the location where you can open it to replace cartridges.
Does it need new firmware to be flashed to it, or perhaps it was accidentally put in a firmware flash mode?
Julian: Let us know how it goes!
Ouch! Thanks for your post philpeacock. I wish I would’ve read it before I ordered the exact same part number, but got something that
I’m pretty sure can’t fit.
Hardy:
Thanks very much for your hard work on this. I have a P7000 whose memory card slot isn’t recognizing cards. I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like the card slot is part of the battery housing. Would you be able to confirm this?
Thanks
Uh…this makes no mention of the keyboard. Why is this titled as a keyboard repair, when it simply removes the battery?
Brian Hunt: Yes, I’d seen these before. I didn’t look that carefully at the photos until now. The ones I bought could be mounted similarly with bolts, but have open backs, so air could leak through.
The ones in the link you posted do not have that problem, or perhaps the seller sealed the backs with some solid material. The price, however, puts the repair in a different category. With shipping to my location, those terminals for the original version, would cost approximately $USD 40.00 . That’s a lot of money for terminals, though you’re also paying for the soldering work. I guess those terminals would be worth it for some people, especially those without soldering skills.
Good troubleshooting guide for a fabulous phone (IMHO, the best ever made).
One nitpick: On page
It lists the troubleshooting guide as being for the “TCX95”. It would be great if someone could correct that.
