I want to know any user suggestions and ways to save as much as possible of the original ds internals.

are you using a surge protector in your TV extension cord . (Surge protectors prevent the sudden discharge of energy into the TV when the power goes out preventing the fuses from being blown.)

make sure you have data all the way off or it could bottleneck the speed of your wifi

Hello, I'm sorry to say that the DS Lite has a different screen connector from the available capture cards so only the original DS can have a capture card. If you want to use the DS controls buy a ds shell with buttons solder tact switches to perf board and connect that to a teensy for a usb input to your pc. Then you can use it as a controller and map the buttons in DeSmuME.

I would try Ethernet if possible and see if that works. if so then its not the network card in your laptop that's broken. If you don't have Ethernet / wired connections (or the above works), then find your laptop model on the HP website below, type in your part number or identify now to find your drivers.
