Respuesta a "Just bought a Flex-14API, wondering what is replaceable/upgradeable."You can upgrade or replace the following parts: (1) The M2 SSD (1 TB+ should be supported - watch out for BIOS updates) (2) The battery (3) The non-soldered RAM (up to 16 GB) which adds up to 20 GB total (4) The WiFi card As you can see at least your data will be accessible if your motherboard becomes faulty. Adding a 8 GB stick of RAM and maybe a larger SSD may be a good upgrade depending on the model.
Respuesta a "Pro 3 Doesn't see SSD"My answer might be a bit late to the party but have you considered the motherboard to be faulty?
Respuesta a "Casing has chipped corner, what can I use to patch it?"Look up amazon for SUGRU. It’s a malleable putty-like silicone glue which forms a flexible yet reliable glue. I used it to fix a hole in my cars dashboard for example.
Respuesta a "Surface Pro 3 wont cut on after Screen replacement"I replaced the screen in one unit as well (completely destroying the old one in the progress like everyone does) and installed a new one. When I got the replacement screen it was delivered without the connecting cable to the motherboard (next to the connector for the digitizer and the battery) so I had to use the former one. When I tried to power it up it would not show any signs of life so I connected an external monitor just to be sure and it worked like a charm. I found that the connection from the lcd to the motherboard was kind of wacky and wobbly so I used a small strip of duct tape under the metal strip which should do the job and it held perfectly. By the way my unit would run easily without a battery connected!
