Best method to disable water to icemaker

Given up on ice maker; Will replace with ice trays. How to best eliminate any water from feeding ice maker which will be removed to make room for trays. Can I simply unplug the water control valve for ice maker? Would like to continue with cold, filtered water through the door. Getting water then ice on back wall of freezer and dripping off front of ice bucket. Items in freezer are frozen together with water from ice maker and water frequently drips out of ice dispenser in the door. Ice cubes in the ice bucket is a large globes of ice jamming the ice auger. Had a service call $129; Replaced: dual water valve ($120) and ice maker assembly (($160). Was a bad purchase 7 years ago. Not ready to replace it yet. Model WRS325FDAW04 sxs

Hi @woodkayaker

Looking at the tech sheet for your model, the simplest method would be to unplug the ice maker from the wiring harness.

The ice maker unit controls the operation of the water valve for the ice maker, so logically if the ice maker isn't there, it can't turn on the valve.
