Then use a flashlight and angle the light at the screen on different areas. You might make out some shadows or see a slight grey color. If you do it is most likely your backlight that has failed. If you do not, it could be the main board or the T-Con board (if your TV has a dedicated one.). You want to go ahead and unplug your TV and go ahead to remove the back cover. Then visually check the boards for any obvious damaged components. Check all the wiring and unplug the wires and plug them back in, make sure they are properly seated.
