Broken cable part on iPad 7 near home button

Hello. I am replacing the screen glass on an iPad 7 (A2197) using the iFixit kit. I noticed that after I removed my home button, it seems that part of the cable broke. See attached - where the yellow dashed line is. Is this detrimental and what will happen - will the button still work - with this broken? Thank you in advance.
