identify the value (uF and V) for the capacitor marked as CE103?

Hi,

I have the same Acer AL2216W and everything is identical except for the power board which is a Delta DAC-19M009 (what you have depicted is the 19M010). I don't have a way of attaching a photo of the 19M009. Is there someone that can identify the value (uF and V) for the capacitor that is marked as CE103? It is the capacitor above CE105 which is a 2200 uF 10V and lying flat like the 120 uF 400V cap above the AC power input socket (instead of vertical as the other caps on the board are) and aligned bot-to-top of board unlike the capacitor boxed in red in step 12 above.

Hi @johng91830

Presumably the capacitor has been damaged beyond being able to read its value, as usually the voltage/capacitance/temperature ratings are printed on the side of the capacitor.

Best that I can find out by looking at images of a DAC-19M010 board online and also the service manual for a DAC-19M008 is that the specifications of C103 are the same for both i.e. 1000µF 25V 105°C

Unfortunately I cannot find any images/service manuals of the-19M009 board where the C103 values can be seen as they're always on the board side of the capacitor ;-( but given that the -19M008 and -19M010 boards use the same value capacitor for C103 it may be that it is the same for your model as well.

The operative words of jayeff are "it may be that it is the same for your model as well." Any electronics person will know that circuits are designed with specific component values - the "may" is not something for experimentation as one can lose the entire board.

Maybe so but given that the board version either side of your version uses the same value component, unless you can find out exactly what value it is (was the capacitor completely destroyed?) you may have no other options but to try it, if you want to get it working.

But then again it's your board

Cheers
