Does the Mako Precision Bit Set come with Magnetic Pad?

Hello,
I want to purchase the Mako Precision Bit Set - B‑Stock and the iFixit Pro Tech Tool Roll.
I would like to know if the Magnetic Pad is included in the Mako Precision Bit Set or the only way to get the Magnetic Pad is to buy the Pro Tech Toolkit ?
Thanks

Hi @laury45013

I don't think that it is included in the Mako 64 bit kit.

The Mako Precision kit 64-bit if this is what you meant by b-stock has a magnetic case (see Innovative Organization section) which holds the bits in place, whereas the magnetic pad is a replacement magnetic sheet for the fabric case of iFixit's Pro Tech Toolkit. To quote the description: "This magnetic sheet holds the Mako driver case in place".

If you meant the Mako driver kit - refurbished it is the same as the Mako Precision kit 64-bit, only refurbished parts instead

Hopefully this clarifies it for you as to what it is for.

Hello @jayeff,

Thanks for your answer.

I already have some Ifixit tools, so I don't want to buy the full Pro Tech Toolkit. But I want to buy the iFixit Pro Tech Tool Roll, to store my future new purchase Mako driver kit - refurbished, and the tools I already have.
However, in the iFixit Pro Tech Tool Roll the magnetic pad is not included. So, I wanted to know if it's included in the Mako driver kit - refurbished.
As your answer seams to be no, I'm quite disappointed because that mean I need to buy the magnetic pad separately, which is out of stock.

If you know any other way to get the magnetic pad I will be grateful.

Thanks

Hi @laury45013,

I may be wrong but the magnetic pad you linked doesn't state "out of stock" but I'm using the USA store - select the location using the arrowhead next to thecountry maps icon at the top of the page.

@jayeff

Yes, I'm in Europe, so sadly I can't order from US store

@jayeff

If you have the iFixit Pro Tech Tool Roll, can you tell me if not having the magnetic pad will really impact its use?

@laury45013

I have the Pro Tech Tool kit.

The magnetic pad is below the Mako case holding it in position once the roll is open. So I guess that it is useful as the case stays put when you remove bits etc.

As I always just open the roll on the bench and leave it there to get the bits I need etc I've never thought about it as it is always there. I've never removed it from the roll to place on the bench with the case on top

The main problem for me is the Mako case itself.

My eyes aren't what they used to be so having the bits back in the correct position so that I know I'm getting the correct one means that I only ever take 1 out at a time and put it back before using a different one if necessary.

I keep a copy of the layout on the lid because the ID for each bit that is in the case under each hole is black on black which is hard to see for me anyway. Why they couldn't make it white lettering idk
