Raspberry Pi 3B+: HDMI not working

Hi iFixers. I have a couple of Raspberry Pi 3B+ boards that are fully functional but don't detect and therefore don't show any picture over HDMI. It's not a software bug and the connector is fine. I'd appreciate any hints on what chip controls HDMI output on those boards - maybe I'd be able to replace it

Update (01/29/24)

After spending some time examining things around on the board I believe the fault might be due to the IC pictured below or the components to the right. Does anyone know what those are? Any hints would be greatly appreciated 🙌🏻

Update (01/29/24)

And one more weird detail - on the marked pin I get around 3V on the faulty boards instead of around 1,1V on a healthy one - what might cause this? Is this still that HDMI05-CL02F3 chip?

I wonder if LAN7515 C000 chip that controls USB and Ethernet on the Pi also related to HDMI 🤔. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hi @insympathy

According to the datasheet the IC only handles USB and Ethernet.

If possible, try tracing the connections back from the HDMI port and see what IC they connect to. Wondering if HDMI is incorporated in the main Broadcom SoC IC

Hey, thanks for a hint - I already found that too.

Now the question is the following: Pi shows the graphical interface over VNC perfectly well, so my guess would be that graphical core does work. It's something between the SoC and the HDMI port that stops the party :)

@insympathy

Don't know Raspberry that well but have you tried this

- de

Tried all of that, thanks, but sadly it seems that it definitely is a hardware issue

@insympathy

You've probably already got this but perhaps check if there's 5V on pin 18 of the HDMI port

You are absolutely right and I do get at least 4,7V on pin 18 :)
