Washer does not get past the wash cycle.

My Kenmore 110.23102 washer does not go past the wash cycle. The tub fills, the lid locks, the agitator moves, then there is a long pause followed by a humming sound (is this the drain part of the cycle?). I have taken the drain hoses off and checked them, I removed the pump and measured 15 ohms and took the cover off the pump and the impeller moved smoothly. The pump goes directly into the bottom of the outer tub - I have not disassembled that yet to check for clogs. Any suggestions or recommendations greatly appreciated. Also, if I hold the cancel button for 3 seconds, which I think should initiate drain it makes the same noise.

Hi @smofinch,

Please confirm the full model number of the washer as there are 3 different models beginning with 11023102 and they're not all the same as to how they're wired and what parts are used?

Hi @smofinch

Here's the tech sheet for your model washer.

Run the diagnostics as shown on p.2 and check if any error codes are being shown.

If there are any then on p.3 there is a Fault/Error Code Display Method chart which shows how to interpret the status LEDs to know what the code is.

The codes and their meanings are shown on p6→p.7.

If for example it is an F9 E1 code (long drain) then since you have checked the drain pump etc and it all seems to be OK then perform Test #7 on p.17

If you do find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, here's a link to a parts list that is useful. Locate the wanted part in the list to find the part number for the part and then search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

Hopefully this is of some help.

To get into the diagnostic mode, I had to rotate the knob counterclockwise 360 degrees (manual says a few clicks?), then 3 right, 1 left, 1 right . You're correct I did get error codes F9E1 and also F2E1. I forgot to add originally that the washer will gravity drain through the hose which I'm assuming also indicates there is not a clog. Working on the test on Page 17 now.

After troubleshooting - nothing made sense except for the pump. After disassembling that to another level - pump shaft was sheered. Thanks for your help.
