Why isent my left stick staying forward when everywhere else it return

Why isent my left stick staying forward when everywhere else it return

When I push my ps4 controllers left stick forward it stays in a forward position. However, when I push it anywhere else it returns to the middle. Also the left stick feels really loose compared to the rights. Any help appreciated

@sameelaamir let's see if the game console guru can help us out @dan0 any idea of what is going on here? Bad potentiometers?
