After Display Replacement, no power at all

I replaced an original display because the old one is broken.
I made every single step from the ifixt how to.

But now the macbook is not able to power on. nothing happens if I press the power button. If I plug in the power cable there is no light on the AC connector...

I already checked every step and every connection but nothing helps...

Stupid question but you did reconnect the battery?

- de

I never touched the battery itself.. just the cable which is going to the mainbord.

@mephisto4286 But did you reconnect it?

- de

You mean the ZIF connector from battery board? If yes.. Then, yo I did.

@mephisto4286 - If you followed the guide you will have noted in Step 18 in the guide Reemplazo de la pantalla del MacBook Pro 16" 2021 you needed to disconnect the battery connector which is the power source. Did you forget to reconnect it?

Update (03/06/2023)

@mephisto4286 - Here’s the step I bet you this screw is missing circled in Red

Hey, in the german version step 18 is the antenna but I think you mean step 13. The small flat cable... Nope, I reconnected it. Several times...

I had the notebook on the ac adapter for several hours but nothing happens...

- de

yes I am sure that its (re)connected...

- de

@mephisto4286 - At this point I think you need to find someone local who can do deeper diagnostics and fix what’s not working.

- de

but I was wondering because there is nothing I can do wrong.. I think ^^

but before I replaced the display, it was working (several days before)..

@mephisto4286 - You could have a bad display (shorted) you could have put the wrong screw in as some screws are a bit long which can damage things if put into the wrong hole. The ribbon cables an ZIF connectors are a bit fragile.

These are the typical suspects! Having a fresh set of eyes sometimes can spot something out of place.

I wish I had a better answer 😢
