first of all make sure that you disk is really not spinning. When you first power up the game cube listen closely if you can hear the drive spin. It will stop when you open it. If you absolutely do not hear anything and are 100% certain that your drive is not spinning, it is possible that your drive motor is burnt out. this would require either a new optical drive or a repair of the drive motor. Check this guide for a repair of the assembly as well as the replacement. There is also a possibility that your laser is either dead or not having enough power. Since it can't see a disk, the optical drive won't start up. Try to clean the lens with isopropyl alcohol. You can adjust some of the laser's power by adjusting the pod on the circuit board of the optical drive, check this guide for instructions on that. As you can see there are plenty of things you can try before you drop kick it :-)

My game cube will not spin, but it also doesn't even display the game cube start up menu, but it has power and inputs work. Suggestions?

bill give us a bit more information. Did this just start or did anything happen recently that brought this on? The more information that you post the easier it will be to answer. BTW if the drive does not spin, it won't read it.
