Hi @dmendola

Here’s the service manual for the player.

See p.11 to 14 for troubleshooting problems with the player.

Hopefully a start

..thanks Jeffeff, I found the manual & used it to detect error code No.8 " r r : ROT RIGHT NG : Non CW Turning of Roulette or Non-Detection of CW Turning of Roulette..." (BUT.., the Roulette DOES turn CW..), so poss. a "non-detection" of CW Turning.." So.., THEN WHAT..? I'm guessing that the RUN file is not initializing, but don't know how to into a RUN code. ANY CLUES..?

Thanks, D. Mendola

I don't know but it seems that disc 1 turns cw and disc 2 turns ccw. Is this what occurs?

Looking at the circuit it is Q003 (a SG-207 photo interrupter) that detects the movement of the disc, so you may have to locate it on the mechanism board to see if it is OK.

You would think that it is the same one that detects ccw movement but something must tell the processor what's happening

THANKS Jay: the machine rotates incrementally CW in "Heat-Running (HR) Mode". It also rotates "a bit" CCW when returning to the play position.

Your suggestion to check component Q003, and find of the Moser part is much appreciated! However, "MY PROBLEM" is understanding WHY an electronic component would go out after I <gently> took the unit down & rebuilt it to replace the 3-belts, when the unit had been operating reliablyin full function going back 20 yrs.

So..., that returns me to thinking THIS PROBLEM is one of logic software being "Scrambled" by my putting the unit back together in a different orientation that it should be. to start-up on powering-up.

I just emailed the ONKYO Support Ctr - pretty much re-stating to them what I wrote HERE, so we'll see what they respond. Again, Much Thanks,

@dmendola

A dry joint solder connection on a component may work for a long while but if disturbed by a different movement pattern to what was happening before, may be enough for it to fail.

I'm not suggesting that this is the problem in your case just saying what can happen when electronics are disturbed.

Hopefully Onkyo will repsond.
