Why is my fan very loud

Depending on which fan is making the noise i.e. CPU or GPU fan, you may have to also remove the thermal assembly and check the condition of the thermal paste on both of the processors in case one is overheating and the fan is just doing what it’s supposed i.e. trying to keeping it cool by running faster than normal to expel the more of the heat.

Here’s a video that shows how to remove the thermal assembly and refresh the thermal paste on the processors and also will allow you to access the fans and clean them or replace if faulty.

Note:

Ensure that you disconnect the battery from the motherboard as soon as you can access the connection after opening the laptop. You don’t have to remove the battery, simply disconnect it. There is always power on the motherboard even when the laptop is turned off. The power button is not a power isolating switch. You don’t want to cause any electrical problems on the board if you accidentally slip while using tools etc to do the repair. Reconnect the battery as late as possible when re-assembling the laptop.

Wear a wrist strap connected to a suitable earth point to prevent any ESD damage to any of the sensitive components that you may accidentally touch during the repair.

If one of the fans is faulty and needs to be replaced, the part number for the CPU fan is 13NR00S0M09111 and the part number for the GPU fan is 3NR00S0M10111. Search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.
