Transparent rear panel, will it effect the camera?

I am interested in buying the new transparent back panel kit for iPhone 4s.

However i've read that changing the back panel will effect camera performance. For the ones more familiar with the iPhone's history will know that this was the reason the white iPhone got delayed, so i find it hard to believe a transparent panel will not affect the camera.

I want to have this panel (great work iFixit), but camera performance is more important to me.

I've found another back panel mod on the web and i am wondering what your opinion is on their statement that this mod will not affect camera performance. Personally i find this statement hard to believe.

In short: will a clear back panel affect camera performance?
