Blank screen on bootup after water accident

After a water spill when I turn on the MacBook Air I hear the gong and sometimes I get a brief glimpse of the apple logo. Then just a black screen. Do you think this is a mainboard replacement or a new screen/video display? Thanks.

First I would open the system up and inspect the LVDS cable connection for corrosion damage as any liquid spill tends to mess it up.
