precious lightwood-carroll we will need your Vespa's serial number. Either the one from the frame or from the engine.

Hello precious,

ET2 50 made between 1996-2001 has the the following frame prefix: ZAPC160

Whereas the ET2 50 made between 2001-2005 has the following prefix: ZAPC381

Christophe VAULLEGEARD double check something for me please. My data shows that the ZAPC381 is actually a LX50 not a ET50 Just making sure that I have the correct info. Thanks.

precious lightwood-carroll  it is the 10th digit on your Vespa’s serial number that is the model year. So your VIN (being a 1999) would start with something like ZAPC1600 (as Christophe VAULLEGEARD  pointed out) which does NOT indicate the year.

ZA= Made in Italy

P= Piaggio/Vespa

C161M= Engine code

next should be model number and finally the 10th digit is the model year. So yours may show a number 9 Of course we would need to have your Vespa’s number to verify and assist you further.

Hi,

Once you get the year sorted here are a couple of links that may help as they have the parts diagrams with all the part numbers which should make it easier to find them.

ET2 50 1998

ET2 50 1999

@precious lightwood-carroll any chance you missed a letter number? I would expect the 4th letter to be a “C” for the engine code. That would mean your scooter is a ‘99 model. If the number you gave us is right then it is actually a 2003 model. So, double check to verify
