Following the form of Lenovo's slimmer, smaller Yoga two-in-ones, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570 gives you great performance, using an Intel Core i5-8250U 1.6GHz processor and an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 video adapter.

Can the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570 Keyboard be Replaced?

My Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570 80XB keyboard has a few keys that no longer respond. I bought a compatible replacement part on Amazon. It arrived with about 20 holes in it. I thought the holes aligned with something for it to snap into place. Searching further online yields very little about replacing this model’s keyboard. One site says the keyboard is riveted into the palm rest and is not removable. Can this model’s keyboard truly be replaced? If so, how? Thanks!

Hi @ncdad ,

The keyboard is part of the upper case assembly and it has to be cut out of the assembly if you want to replace it.

Not sure with your exact model but with others it is held in with plastic rivets that can be melted or cut away so that the keyboard can be removed and then you have to glue the new one back in somehow.

It wasn’t really designed to be an easily replaceable component, separate from the upper case.

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.49 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the upper case assembly.
