There seems to be a complete gap of guides for replacing the Thunderbolt Port - anyone able to shed some light?

True! We don’t have the needed guide here to take the logic board out which is needed to make root to slide out the USB port assembly. But the similar 2018 13” system Teardown will give you enough clues how.
You know … we love for people to publish guides too! Take plenty of pictures as you do it and post them in a guide to share!
