Hi @fn150 ,

Here are some images taken from the 2000 F150 service manual that may help.

With the key out of the ignition, try removing fuse #5 from the fuse block on the left side under the dash and then check if the reversing lights go out.

If they do then depending on whether it’s an automatic or manual transmission there may be a problem with the switches in the transmission - see left side image regarding the switches.

If they stay on with the fuse removed, leave the fuse out and then try removing fuse #5 in the fuse block on the left side of the engine bay and see if the lights go out.

If the lights turn off then remove the trailer reversing lamp relay and reinsert the fuse and check if the lights come on or not

If they come on then there may be a problem with the wiring to pins 1 & 3 (short circuit?) of the fuse relay connector in the fuse block.

If they don’t come on but then do when the relay is reinserted then there may be a problem with the relay itself. Try inserting another compatible relay and check.

If they stay on regardless of what you tried above then there may be a problem with the remote anti theft personality (RAP) module which is located behind the left side of the dash. I can’t find any wiring information about how it connects to the reversing lights except what is shown in the left side image above.

The image below is all that is otherwise mentioned about the RAP module in the manual
