I have removed the battery due to it puffing up. Although my laptop is plugged in and had previously booted up with only the power cable, it is now showing no signs of life when attempting to power on. The charger and outlet are both good. What is likely the cause of the problem?

If your laptop won't power on, even when it's plugged in could have a faulty power supply, motherboard, video card or RAM. Ensure the plug to the power cord is plugged into an outlet and to the computer. Check the laptop's battery and power connector to make sure the connection hasn't come loose.
