Why is my Whirlpool Quiet Partner II not cleaning well.

I have a Whirlpool Quite Partner II- model DU1055XTVQ8. The dishwasher has a few issues. I am not sure if it is related or separate issues. The main one now is that the dishes aren’t getting cleaned and have a white residue. I used white vinegar pretty regularly to clean, but I don’t think the top or bottom sprayers have been cleaned. I tried to do that yesterday, but not sure how well I did. I have read about filters but can’t find where it is on this dishwasher. Any clue how to get to it?

Hi @shenry ,

There is no removable filter as such in the machine.

There is a chopper assembly, part #6 pump and motor parts diagram that chops up any food particles preventing them from clogging up the circulation pump which may reduce the pressure and amount of water being pumped through the 3 spray arms .

Besides the two main spray arms there is also a spinner arm (part #3 upper wash and rinse parts diagram) which is basically a 3rd spray arm

Try placing the 3 spray arms in a remembered position and then start the machine. Allow it to fill and then start to briefly wash and then open the door to stop the machine (be careful, open slowly to prevent water coming out) and check the position of the spray arms to see if they have moved at all. It is the pressure of the water being pumped out of the holes in the spray arms that causes them to turn and therefore distribute the water evenly over the dishes.

Are the dishes drying OK?

Do they clean properly if you select a hotter wash cycle option?

Jayeff, I put a new heating element in thinking that the excess water droplets were lack of heating. BUT they’re still there. And things on the top rack aren’t getting super clean. Plz advise. Tku

@trulyhoratio

What is the model number of your dishwasher?

Are you using a rinse aid as well as the dishwasher detergent, either separately or as a combined detergent/rinse aid tablet?

It is the rinse aid that is used to get rid of the excess droplets during the drying cycle at the end.

To ensure proper cleaning, check that the upper spray arm is rotating by placing both the arms in a remembered position i.e. either front to back or side to side and then starting the dishwasher, allowing it to fill and run for a few minutes and then stopping the machine by opening the door and check if the upper arm has moved from where you set it.

If you can, remove the upper spray arm and check if all the water outlets in the arm are clear and not blocked with food particles or scale.

It is the pressure of the water being pumped through the spray arms that causes them to rotate.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner II (2). Good advice and will check this weekend. Do you have YouTube suggestions on how to do the above? Tku!!!

@trulyhoratio

The model number will help in finding the correct information and parts (if necessary) more than the model name.

The spray arms can be manually rotated into a remembered position before starting the machine
