Can I change the ssd card on this to add more storage on it?

I have a Acer chromebook 14 and I was wondering if I can change the 32 ssd for a 256 ssd to install windows 10 as a virtual machine on it

What is the exact model? Have you opened it up to have a look? Does it have an SSD or M.2 drive installed? If it does. . .maybe.

The specific model is cb3 431 c3ws .

If you can change the motherboard with one that has a different storage limit you can change the storage on it.But you need a USB recovery tool from the Chrome recovery utility on the web store since you wont have a os.

Most Chromebooks use eMMC, so not likely. If you see a M.2 slot it might work, but it will likely always require keeping the base 32GB of eMMC if it can be done, in addition to the add-on SSD.

More than likely, it will be fixed (non-upgradeable) eMMC. Outside of a few like the Acer C710 (mSATA) I’ve never seen a modular SSD in a Chromebook.
