Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina 15" battery questions.

A few questions about the battery I’ve just replaced for my late 2013, 15” MacBook Pro Retina from IFixit.

(1) Is it normal for the battery capacity to start at 8739 for the 1st cycle and drop to 7626 after 10 battery cycles?

(2) coconutBattery shows the manufacture date of 1-3-11 for the battery. Is this accurate?

(3) How many hours of usage (web browsing for example, not CPU intensive tasks) should I expect from the new ifixit battery? Currently I’m getting around 3 1/2 hours on the new battery.

(4) Why is it showing 13 load cycles when I’ve only performed 10 loadcycles? (both coconutBattery and Mac show this information) It skipped from 1 to 4 cycles after the second full charge.

Note that during the first few cycles, it would charge to 100%, gradually drop to 50%, then quickly drop to 7% and remain there until the laptop shut off.

Please note that I followed the IFixit instructions to condition the battery. I charged the battery to 100% and let it continue charging for at least another two hours. Subsequent loadcycles were charging the battery to 100% and allowing it to drain completely until the machine turned off.

Thank you!

(1) Something almost identical happened to my Mid-2012 Unibody MacBook Pro, and my iPhone 6s has a “moody” battery where sometimes the battery is at 80% capacity, sometimes it’s at 20%. The capacity might go back up.

(2) I’d say that something is off there… If it works it works.

(3) I get ~4 hours out of a new battery for the aforementioned MacBook Pro but I couldn’t tell you.

(4) Not 100% sure but errors can occur.

Thank you for the response. I know the original specs were around 7 hours for a full charge for this model (if not more) and don't want to have unrealistic expectations of the replacement I purchased from ifixit. But now that the battery health has already dropped to 85.3% after a dozen charges, that seems like it might be an issue.

@jjot Also software updates can reduce (sometimes significantly) the battery life of a computer.
