I want to replace the HD with a Hitachi Travelstar 320GB SATA. Will there be any compatibility problems between the 2005 Powerbook 1.33 ghz and more recent hard drives?

If memory serves, your Powerbook uses the PATA interface, so your
SATA drive won't work.
